Friday's Mercy Minutes...

Divine Mercy Daily

Reflections from the Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska

Friday, April 7Novena before the Feast of Mercy    First Day Today bring to Me ALL MANKIND, ESPECIALLY ALL SINNERS, and immerse them in the ocean of My mercy. In this way you will console Me in the bitter grief into which the loss of souls plunges Me (Diary, 1210).

My Prayer Response with St. Faustina:  Most Merciful Jesus, whose very nature it is to have compassion on us and to forgive us, do not look upon our sins but upon our trust which we place in Your infinite goodness. Receive us all into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart, and never let us escape from It. We beg this of You by Your love which unites You to the Father and the Holy Spirit (Diary, 1211).

Thursday's Mercy Minutes...

Divine Mercy Daily

Reflections from the Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska

Thursday, April 6 The Chaplet of MercyAt the Hour of Death       When I entered my solitude, I heard these words: At the hour of their death, I defend as My own glory every soul that will say this chaplet; or when others say it for a dying person, the pardon is the same. When this chaplet is said by the bedside of a dying person, God's anger is placated, unfathomable mercy envelops the soul, and the very depths of My tender mercy are moved for the sake of the sorrowful Passion of My Son (Diary, 811).

My Prayer Response: Lord Jesus, thank You for the promises You and Your Father made about praying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy for the dying. Help us to make use of it for dying family members and friends.

Wednesdays Mercy Minutes...

Divine Mercy Daily

Reflections from the Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska

Wednesday, April 5 The Chaplet of Mercy Prayer for the Dying      The Lord said to me today: Go to the Superior and tell her that I want all the sisters and wards to say the chaplet which I have taught you. They are to say it for nine days in the chapel in order to appease My Father and to entreat God's mercy for Poland (Diary, 714).

The following afternoon, when I entered the ward, I saw someone dying, and learned that the agony had started during the night. When I verified it — it had been at the time when I had been asked for prayer. And just then, I heard a voice in my soul: Say the chaplet which I taught you. I ran to fetch my rosary and knelt down by the dying person and, with all the ardor of my soul, I began to say the chaplet. Suddenly the dying person opened her eyes and looked at me; I had not managed to finish the entire chaplet when she died, with extraordinary peace (Diary, 810).

My Prayer Response:  Thank You, Jesus, for this powerful prayer for the dying. I have seen the effect of praying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy for my dying sister. Peace at her death filled the room!

Tuesday's Mercy Minutes...

Tuesday, April 4  Say Unceasingly the ChapletThe Chaplet of Mercy

Once, as I was going down the hall to the kitchen, I heard these words in my soul: Say unceasingly the chaplet that I have taught you. Whoever will recite it will receive great mercy at the hour of death. Priests will recommend it to sinners as their last hope of salvation. Even if there were a sinner most hardened, if he were to recite this chaplet only once, he would receive grace from My infinite mercy. I desire that the whole world know My infinite mercy. I desire to grant unimaginable graces to those souls who trust in My mercy (Diary, 687).

My Prayer Response: Lord Jesus, make me more aware of the power of the mercy chaplet as a prayer for Your infinite mercy for sinners, for the dying, and for the whole world. May You inspire me to pray it unceasingly.

Monday's Mercy Minutes...

Divine Mercy Daily

Reflections from the Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska

Monday, April 3 The Chaplet of MercyA Powerful Prayer Weapon  When I had said the prayer, in my soul I heard these words: This prayer will serve to appease My wrath. You will recite it for nine days, on the beads of the rosary, in the following manner: First of all, you will say one OUR FATHER and HAIL MARY and the I BELIEVE IN GOD. Then on the OUR FATHER beads you will say the following words: "Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world." On the HAIL MARY beads you will say the following words: "For the sake of His sorrowful Passion have mercy on us and on the whole world." In conclusion, three times you will recite these words: "Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world" (Diary, 476).

My Prayer Response: Thank You, Jesus, for the powerful prayer weapon You have given us. Help us to use it regularly for mercy not only for ourselves but for the whole world! Thank You for the global consciousness You give us of the world's need of Your mercy.

Sunday, April 2The Chaplet of Mercy Offering the Sacrifice

The words with which I entreated God are these: Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ for our sins and those of the whole world; for the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us (Diary, 475).

The next morning, when I entered chapel, I heard these words interiorly: Every time you enter the chapel, immediately recite the prayer which I taught you yesterday (Diary, 476).

My Prayer Response: Thank You, Lord, for the prayer of the Chaplet of Mercy. It is "living the Mass," offering the sacrifice of Your Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity to the Father — for mercy on the whole world.

Saturday, April 1  The Feast of Mercy Consolation for Souls

Say, My daughter, that the Feast of My Mercy has issued forth from My very depths for the consolation of the whole world (Diary, 1517).

My Prayer Response: Thank You, Lord Jesus, that the Feast of Mercy is now available. May the feast be celebrated, so souls in need would receive consolation. Lord Jesus, Son of the Living God, have mercy on us and on the whole world!
