Who are you praying for?

Good evening,

I was just wandering if you have a prayer list?  Well, whether you do or not, I most definitely do.  Why, you may ask.  My answer to this question is:  I believe strongly in the power of prayer.

I have so many relatives and friends who are currently ill, most of them have some form of cancer.  I can't do much, physically, to help them, but most importantly, I can pray for each and every one of them.  I also ask for Jesus' Mercy, daily, for everyone throughout this world who is dealing with any illness.

I understand how an illness can change a person's life, entirely.  It definitely has changed mine, but I'm okay with the way my life has changed.  I am just so grateful that I'm still alive to enjoy each day.

About five years ago, I found out about the Divine Mercy Chaplet, Divine Mercy Sunday and about the life of St. Faustina.  All three of these things changed my life.  I started living each and every day with Gratitude and Acceptance for everything in my life, including my illness.  I can honestly say, that my life is happy and I'm content with things just as they are now.  Mostly, I'm just thankful that I'm still alive to enjoy my family and friends.

Not accepting your life because of illness, is only going to make you miserable.  If you've never heard about Divine Mercy, you can research it on the internet.  Or you can go to the Divine Mercy webpage from Stockbridge, Mass.  You don't have to be a Catholic to trust in Jesus' Divine Mercy and bring the same peace and contentment into you life, as I have in mine.

I hope you have a good weekend and be safe.

Just a Reminder!

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to do a quick post to remind all of you that all my books and booklets are available for electronic reading by going to:  www.Amazon.com.  Just enter my full name into the search block and all my reading material will come up.

I have a page on this blog, for most of my books and booklets.  The newest novel, which was released last November, is called "Returning Home."  The one before that is titled, "Prolonged Uncertainties."
I also have a series of three novels:  Sassy With A Capital "S". Crafty Cruise With a Capital "C:, and Train Trekking With a Capital "T."  Any of these three novels can be read alone.  They do have the same group of people in them, but each one will stand alone.

When I wrote "Prolonged Uncertainties", I stepped out of the box.  This novel is about a twenty year old cold case concerning the disappearance of an eight year of little girl, who disappears off of Squirrel Island, which is just off the coast of Maine.

Generally my novels are just fun loving and based on folks just having a good time being together.  All though I usually do toss in a little mischief or some ghostly images.  You can check their pages right here on the blog, if you'd like.

I hope you all have a great weekend and please be safe.

Does anyone remember the song, Wildwood Days?

Hi all,

This song came out in 1963 by Bobby Rydell.   Did you  know that he recorded four singles with chubby Checker?  I'm watching and listening to the Solid Gold Oldies Station on television.  I love the ole music and entertainment (TV programs) from the 50's and 60's.  How about "Chapel of Love" by The Dixie Cups from 1964:

This music takes me back to a time in my life when I had no big concerns or worries.  I hadn't experienced "real" life as of yet.  I so wish I could jump up and dance to this music once again, but I am not able to do that anymore, and I'm okay with that.  I'm just thankful that I'm still alive to listen to those songs from my preteen and teen years.  Of course, I never really stopped listening to this music even after I was married and had three daughters.

My daughters grew up hearing this music.  Well, that is until they became early teens themselves, and then it was me who listened to their music more than them listening to mine.  Which was okay.  I liked some of the groups from the eighties, also.  I suppose every era has it's own type of music, but I still prefer the music that I grew up hearing, as a teenager.

Well, today's Hump Day.  So all you folks working Monday through Friday jobs, you're now on the downside of your work week.  Hooray!  I suppose we'll do some grocery shopping tomorrow.  I am anxious to have the time to work in my craft room.  I did some cleaning up over the past week or so and my husband picked up some new storage units today, for me.  I didn't have much shelf space in my craft room because my shelves were all flowing over with hard bound novels.  But, I've been donating most of them to a local Senior Center.  (They are having a book sale to raise some money for the center.)

I have so many stamps, for card making, that they're stuck into plastic drawers on top of each other.  Now I will be able to completely separate the wooden stamps from the plastic ones and also the holiday stamps.  I so enjoy creating hand made greeting cards.  I'm already about 80% finished with them, for the year.  Well, except my Christmas cards, which I don't make until around the first of November.

Well, I hope you all are finding some ways to be creative.  It's a good feeling to do something, handmade, for someone else.  Try it!  You'll see what I mean!

I hope the remainder of your week goes well and may God bless each of you.

Is this January?

Hi everyone,

Well, I can't believe that South Central Pennsylvania broke our record for warmth today.  We hit 65 degrees here today.  Now, tomorrow it's only to be in the forties and by Saturday, it's to snow here.  Oh well, there's nothing we can do about the weather.  At least it was nice out, when we went to the grocery store today.

I've been working on my handmade greeting cards this week and last week.  I have a good start on them.  I create ones for all my family's birthdays, valentines day, Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving Day, Mother's Day and Father's Day.  I also create sympathy cards, thinking of you cards, get well cards and cheering up cards.  I love doing anything creative.

The problem is that I don't have much strength or energy anymore.  I can work in my craft room for an hour and a half, or a little more, during the morning hours; but in the afternoon I can only last about 30 to 40 minutes.  Then my back hurts me.  So, most times my afternoons and evenings are spent on the sofa with my feet up and a pillow behind my back.  That's when I do my crocheting and hand embroidery work.

I am so thankful that I have the energy to do what I am able.  God has truly blessed me.  Although I am sick, He has provided me with the energy and talent to create things for others.  I am thankful for all His mercy and compassion.  How about you?  Are you thankful for all the many blessings God has bestowed upon you?  Remember that there are many, many folks who are far worse off than we are.  True contentment is accomplished when we practice Gratitude and Acceptance every day of our lives.

The weekend is soon upon us, so have some fun and enjoy family time.  Be safe and may God bless each of you.
Susan

God's given us such beauty.  It's ashamed we don't take the time each day to witness it.

Enjoy your weekend!

Hi everyone,
We're now about half way through the weekend now.  I hope that your day is going well and that tomorrow will go well, also.  As for me, I haven't left my home today.  I truly can't stand being out in this cold weather.  So, I will just stay inside and amuse myself.

I have started on my handmade Christmas ornaments for Dec. 2017.  I enjoy giving things to my family that I've made by hand.  My hope is that after I've left this world, they will remember me every time they hang those ornaments on their Christmas trees.  I'm still using some of my Mom and Dad's old ornaments from the early 1950's.  Since both of my parents passed away a long time ago, it helps me to feel that they're here with us to celebrate Christmas each year.  Maybe I'm just a sentimental fool, but I'm not going to change.

Are you a person who loves tradition?  Well, I am.  Oh, I know that many things change as the years go by.  Young children grow up into young adults with significant others in their lives.  I realize that it's a "give and take" when you are in a relationship.  Sometimes I miss when my Grandsons were just little boys.  I am happy for them now, but I miss those times, especially during the holidays.  Oh well, life goes on...

Can you believe that tomorrow is January 8th already?  Time goes by so quickly, especially as one gets older.  Why is that?  Any idea?  I truly can't figure that out.

Whatever you have planned for tomorrow, I hope you  will remember that it's the Lord's Day.  Please make sure that you spend some time with God, giving Him praise and thanksgiving for all the many blessings He's given to you and your family.  We've all had our share of heartache and pain, but we've also had many, many blessings shared with us.

May your Sunday be a blessed one.  Be safe and stay healthy.

Has the excitement ended?

Hi folks,

I'm sure that by now, most of you have settled back into your routines once again.  I know I have.  Actually, it kind of feels good to get back into my normal routine once again.  You see, I am a regimented person.  I always have been.  I suppose I got that trait from my Mom.  I actually like to have a routine.  It helps me to accomplish whatever I need to get done.  I'm also a "list" person.  To say the lease, "I don't fly by the seat of my pants."  I never have.

I enjoyed all the Christmas and New Year activities, but now it's time to return to normal.  We put all our Christmas decorations away last week.  Next, I need to start some cleaning.  There's always a lot of glitter and stuff on the floor from the decorations.  Maybe I'll start some of my cleaning tomorrow.  We'll see.

I've already started on my hand made greeting cards for the new year.  I made my Grandsons birthday cards and have started my Valentine's cards.  Of course, I'd much rather work on these then do my cleaning.  Who wouldn't?  Well, I guess if you're not creative, you'd rather clean, but not me.

I visited my friend, who's in a nearby nursing home this morning.  She wasn't in a very good mood today.  I'm not sure what was wrong, but she seemed irritated and tired.  I stayed for a little over an hour.  I hope she's feeling some better next week.  I suppose we all have our negative or grouchy days.  I certainly do.

The last few days the weather has been ugly.  It's been raining and damp out there.  Although the temps have been in the mid forties.  I see that after tomorrow, it's going to be quite cold here, perhaps not even above freezing.  I'm not looking forward to that type of weather.  I can tell you right now, that I will be staying indoors on those days.

I hope the first few days of the new year have been going well for you.  I pray for peace in our country, as well as, through out the world.  Be safe and God bless you all.
