Looking for a good book for electronic reading?

Hi all,

This will just be a short hello.  I just wanted to invite everyone to check out all thirteen of my novels and booklets.  You can find them by going to:  www.amazon.com.  Once there, enter my full name in the Search block and click search.  All my books will come up.

Unfortunately, all of them, accept for "Crafty-Cruise" With a Capital "C" are only for electronic reading.  I do have some actual copies of the above book for sale.  They are $16. each and I will be happy to mail one to you as soon as I receive your check.    Although I only have a limited number of actual books left.

Did you know:  That you can read an electronic book on any electronic device, such as:  Ipod, Ipad, laptop, PC, tablet, Kindle or Nook.

I do hope your Christmas Holidays are going well.  I'll be doing a new blog very soon.  Take care and God bless each and every one of you.

Now is the time...

Hi all,

I trust you all had a blessed and joyous Christmas Eve.  It doesn't matter whether you had the money to spend on many presents, or just one that counts.  What matters is that you and your family remembered the real reason why we celebrate Christmas.  Of course it's to honor the birth of Jesus Christ.

I know the Christmas season has become very commercial, but it can only be that way if we permit it.  Of course, I love giving my daughters, sons-in-law, grandsons and my husband gifts, but that takes place on Christmas Eve.  On Christmas Day it's just my husband and myself at our home.  The very first time this occurred, I was so depressed.  I had never not spent Christmas Day with my children.  But, it has been this way for many years now and I have to say that I look forward to celebrating Christmas Day with just my husband.

I watched the Mass which was celebrated from the Basilica in Washington, DC.  It was a beautiful ceremony and the sermon was very enlightening.  After breakfast we exchanged our gifts and then it was very quiet during the remainder of the day.  We watched some (3) old movies, which were from 1945-1947.  The one I had seen before, but the other two I don't recall seeing.  The were all in black and white.  I loved them!

What did you do on Christmas day?  Did you stay at home or go to relatives homes?  I hope that whatever you did, you enjoyed the day!

I finally got my laptop back from the tech-guy today.  Man oh man, did I miss it.  But, the tablet that my husband bought me for a Christmas gift (he gave it to me early) sure came in handy.  I love it and it's so light and easy to use.  Although I do not like typing on it.  I am old school and by that I mean that I learned typing in high school.  We were taught to rest the tips of our fingers on the keys and we were not allowed to look at the keyboard when we were typing.  Actually, I am a pretty good typist and quite fast, also.  My husband purchased me The Dragon last year for Christmas.  For those of you who aren't familiar with that, it's a headset with software that allows you to speak into the headset and the computer automatically types for you.  I fooled around with it earlier this year, but you really need to learn all the commands so that you can correct mistakes and such.  Since I'd already started my current novel, I truly didn't want to take the time to learn the commands just then.  But, now I'm almost ready to send it to the printers and then I plan on spending some time with The Dragon.  I will need to write some crypt-notes so I can remember all the commands.  Getting old affects the memory!

Well, I hope that in the next two weeks I can get my book off to the printing company.  I'm almost finished making the corrections and then I just need to make sure everything is set up correctly.  I am getting so excited to finally see it in print.  I'm hoping that Irvin's Book Store will have a New Release Party for me when it's published.

I'm getting anxious to start writing something else.  I haven't done really any writing (except on here) for the past month and I must say, "I miss it!"  How about you?  What have you been up to?  What would you like to pursue in the future?  I hope this gives you something to think about in the upcoming weeks.

My days this week are all messed up.  Today seemed like a Monday instead of a Thursday.  Tomorrow I need to go grocery shopping, but it won't seem like Friday to me.  Oh well, my days often get messed up since my days are all much alike.

I need to close for now, so be safe and have a wonderful day tomorrow.  Enjoy the remainder of the Christmas season.

Do you "Play it forward"?

Hi all,

How's everyone doing this dreary Monday morning?  It's now one day before Christmas Eve, so if you are not finished shopping, you'd better get moving!

I have to share my thoughts with all of you today, about 'playing it forward'.  God wants for each and every one of us to count our blessings and then do something wonderfully nice for someone else.  Of course, the best way to do this is by not letting them know who gave them the gift, whatever it may be.

I have to share a story with you all.  I know a young woman, who is a single mom.  She now has full custody of her son and her ex-husband is to be paying child support.  She never took him through domestic relations, so consequently she is always at his mercy.  She approached him about increasing the weekly amount (which was way too low to start).  He objected!  She finally got tired of the fighting to get what was owed her and she applied for child support through domestic relations.

Of course, like all government operated agencies, it will be at least two months before she even has a sit down meeting.  In the meantime, after her ex was served the paperwork, he refused to give her anything until after it's all settled, because he was ticked off.

Now things were very hard, monetarily, for her.  Her Mother is helping as much as she can to hold her over until this is all settled.  Now, for the good news!  About ten days ago, upon arriving home from work one evening, she found three grocery paper bags full of food, including quite a bit of meat.  There was no note, card or anything paper attached, so she has no idea who gave her the, much needed, food.  Then a few days later, she received a Christmas card in the mail, with no return address on it.  Inside the card was two gift certificates to a local restaurant.  Again, no name, just some reference to Santa.  She also was informed by her boss, that her yearly bonus would be a bit higher this year than last year.

She is so thankful to each and every one of these people who have stepped up to help her in her hour of need.  What better time to do this than at Christmas time.  Now, she knows she has to 'play it forward'.  Obviously she can't do that with money, but there are so many ways you can help another person.

To start, how about a big smile and a 'good morning'?  How about as you are leaving a store, stop to help someone else, perhaps an elderly person, put their groceries into their car.  There are just so many good deeds we can do that cost us nothing!

How about you?  Do you need to 'play it forward'?  I'm quite sure that you have had many blessings come your way over the years.  Do you give back to another for all those blessings?  I surely hope so.

I'd like to ask each and every one of you out there, to do at least one nice thing for someone else today.  Oh, I know, you're all so busy, what with Christmas just two days off, but every one can spare five minutes of their time.  Will you?

Need a gift?

Hi all,

Just a short post to remind everyone that you can purchase any of my novels or booklets for electronic reading by going to www.amazon.com.  Enter my full name in the search block and all thirteen of my books and booklets will come up.  Feel free to check them out beforehand, by reading the pages right here on my blog.  I don't have a page for all 13 of them, but for some of them.

Don't forget that you don't need to have a Kindle or Nook to read electronic books.  You can read them on any electronic device:  iPad, iPod, PC, laptop, tablet, IPhone, etc.  They make great gifts for those older folks who don't seem to really need anything.

Also, every woman needs to educated herself as much as she can regarding Woman and Heart Disease.  There's also some booklets available on that subject, as well.  Check them out!

Thanks and have a super day.

Jesus Comes!

Hi all,

As we look forward to the honoring of the birth of Jesus Christ, I hope each and every one of you will be kind, loving, friendly, thoughtful, generous with someone you meet today.  It could be that stranger you encounter while waiting for your lunch to arrive; if could be that woman in the grocery line ahead of you, who is counting her money hoping she has enough to pay for her meager groceries; it could be your own family member, who is going through a particularly difficult time right now; whoever it is, please take 60 seconds to offer a kind word of encouragement.  Or make a donation to the Salvation Army or some other organization that's helps those in need.  Trust me, you will feel so good in doing just one kind act for another human being.  Or, you could just smile at someone and ask how they're doing.  Sometimes a smile makes all the difference in the world to someone else.
Christmas is exactly one week away.  So, that means you still have seven days to pass on God's love and kindness to someone else.

My laptop is still not fixed, but I'm managing okay without it at present.  I'm using the Tablet that my husband purchased me for Christmas.  He buys me something and then gives it to me right away.  Not sure why he does that, except maybe he's excited to give it to me.  Either way, I love it, as it allows me to once again sit on my sofa with my feet up and check out my emails and FB and blogger.

I'm already now for Christmas to come.  Everything is done, well, except for the Christmas Eve meal, which I can't really do now.  I'm just going to enjoy the next six days of Christmas.  How about you?  Are you about done, too?  I started very early on my shopping and did all of it online.  If you haven't ever tried that, perhaps next year you should.

Well, I'm officially going to publish my newest novel in January.  The proofing is complete, but I still have some changes to make before it's ready to go to the publisher.  I have an idea for a booklet that I'd like to work on next, but won't start that until January, also.  I must say that I'm missing the daily writing, but the past six weeks have just been too busy for me.  I suppose if I wasn't chronically ill, I'd be able to do more, but I am, so I only do what I can.

I do hope you'll take a few minutes out of your busy day to give that smile to another person who perhaps really needs it.  Sometimes one simple kind deed keeps another human being from doing something bad to themselves or to some one else.  Play it forward, always!

Have a wonderful day and stay safe.

It's coming, but I hope it fizzles out!

Hi all,

How's everyone doing today?   In my title I'm referring to the snow storm that is supposed to hit PA today.  It's so close to Christmas now, and so many folks will be out on the roads today doing their Christmas shopping.  Hazardous road conditions don't make it safe for them.  My husband has a company Christmas party to attend this evening and I'm not at all happy about him being out on snow covered, slippery roads.  But, as I've said before:  We have absolutely NO control over the weather!

I'm sure, most of you, like me, are looking forward to the Christmas holidays.  I relish the time I get to spend with all my family on Christmas Eve.  It makes me so very happy to see the happiness in their eyes and the smiles on their faces as they unwrap their gifts.  I wish we could give them more, but we only can do so much.

Christmas is my very favorite time of the year.  The love, fellowship and caring that people bestow upon others, during this time, is wonderful to see.  It's simply too bad that this love can't be expressed during the entire year.  Why is it just at Christmas?  Don't get me wrong, I am so happy that it does exist then, just don't understand why it can't be present every day.

I'm getting anxious to get started, once again, on my writing.  First, I need to get my laptop fixed.  It threw a fit and now won't even open to the main screen.  But, my husband bought me an early Christmas gift.  He purchased a Tablet for me.  I can't really do my book writing on it, but now I can, once again, sit on the sofa with my feet up and check my email, FB, Blogger.com and anything else I choose.  So, for that, I'm grateful to him.

Well, I best end this now, as I have a few things I need to accomplish today before all my energy escapes me.  That, of course, will be around lunch time!  I wish each of you a safe and productive Saturday.  If your area is caught in this snow storm, please be careful on the roads.

I'm sorry, but I know you understand.

Hi all,

I'm so sorry that I'm not keeping up with my posts on Blogger.com.  It's hard for me since my laptop conked out on me.  My tech. is out on sick leave, so I don't know how long it will be before I can get it repaired, if it can even be repaired.  I'm thinking about purchasing a tablet or an Ipad in the meantime.  Any ideas from any of you, since I'm not electronic savvy.

Well, tomorrow is hump day and here in good old PA it's to be a very cold morning.  Temperatures are to be going down into the teens over night and only up to about 25 tomorrow.  What with all the snow we had today, again, the roads will be icy in the early AM hours.  So, if you are traveling to work tomorrow in the morning, please be careful and don't rush to work.

Well, Christmas is basically two weeks away now.  Are you almost ready to welcome Jesus into this world once again?  I'm pretty much all set.  All my gifts are wrapped and yesterday I made chocolate covered pretzel rods and chocolate covered pretzel Crisps.  Today I made about 150 or so chocolate chip, walnut cookies and a large pan of peanut butter fudge.  I used my dear Mom's recipe and it turned out great.  It firmed up just the way it's supposed to do.  I'm a happy camper tonight.

I miss writing!  I didn't realize just how much time I spend on it.  I can't wait for January to roll around, so I can get back on it.  I have another project all planned out, but just don't have the time to work on it as of yet.  Also, in January, I will be publishing my third book in the series.  It's called, "Train-Trekking" With A Capital "T".  I'm so excited to see it in print.  I'm considering going with a printing company who will also market it, but I really haven't decided yet which way I want to go.  I've spoken to a representative twice recently, but I make my own decisions and I don't let people talk me into doing something I don't want to do!

Well, I really must go for now.  Please stay safe and be careful on the roadways.

It's coming fast...

Hi all,

How's everyone doing this fine Friday evening?  I hope all is well with each of you.  I've had a very busy week, but I'm not complaining.

Yesterday, my Red Hat Ladies met at my house and we had our annual Christmas luncheon and cookie exchange.  All went very well and we each ended up with over 2 1/2 dozen cookies to enjoy.  I hosted the luncheon and I served ham and cheese on the large Crescent rolls, with a large sliced dill pickle.  Then, of course, there were 36 cookies for us to share for dessert.  I was stuffed, that's all I can say.

My Sister, Carol, is up from North Carolina.  She came in to spend Wednesday and today with me.  I so enjoy visiting with her.  I miss her so much.  She usually comes home once or twice a year to visit.  She stays with our Brother and his wife when she's here.  We always seem to have so much to chat about.  I was teaching her to crochet today.  She knows how to knit, but not how to crochet.  Time will tell whether she'll be able to do it or not!

My husband is on his way home after a week of hunting.  He didn't get a buck, but I suppose he had a good time trying.  Honestly, I don't get the joy in sitting in a tree stand all day, freezing, but then I'd never shoot a rifle at a deer, even if I had the opportunity.  I'll be glad to have him home once again.

Yesterday I had a telephone call from a publisher, whom I've spoken to in the past.  They simply can't understand why I don't want to have them publish and sell my book.  It's hard for me to explain to people why the money part isn't really important to me.  It's all about giving back for all the blessings I've been given.  I told him I had company and couldn't speak to him right then, but he kept trying.  Finally, he said he'd call me next week.  I said "okay" and hung up.

My laptop isn't working at the present time.  I truly do not know what the heck happened to it.  It just won't even open up to my home page anymore.  I can't tell you how much I miss it.  I've gotten so used to sitting on the sofa with my feet up, working on it.  I need to have some one look at it and soon.

This weekend we have a Christmas party to attend.  I'm sure it will be very nice. What plans do you have for over the weekend?  Anything fun?  I hope you find some time to enjoy yourself and relax.  I miss having time to just write, anything.  I have something in mind for a booklet, but simply haven't had the time or energy to start it as of yet.

Take care and enjoy the weekend.

Hi all,

Here are a few of the photos I took while in Ocean City, MD, over the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend.  The sky out over the ocean is so spectacular, both just as the sun is coming up and also later in the morning.  It's surely the Lord in all His glory!

I went with a group of ladies, including one of my daughters.  We had a very nice time, at least, I know I did.  I did a little shopping, but they all did a lot of shopping.  It was Christmas shopping, of course.  I think they were all pleased with all the purchases they made and they put a good dent in their shopping list.  As for me, I'm done.

Today I finished wrapping all my gifts.  I'm so relieved that's finished.  My sister, Carol, is visiting from North Carolina, so she and I will be spending most of the day tomorrow, together.  It's been a while since I've seen her, so I'm very anxious to spend time with her once again.

I was watching a commercial today on television, and I immediately thought of my Dad and Grandpa.  Before I knew it, I was tearing up.  It doesn't take much for me to do that, especially whenever I think of my parents or grandparents when it's close to the Christmas Season.  I miss them so much.  Hopefully, I'll be with them once again, in heaven.

How was your Thanksgiving weekend?  I assume most of you spent time with family members.  At least I hope you did.  If you are away from home, I'm sure it's very hard during the holiday season.

Since we only got home yesterday afternoon, today I kept thinking it was Monday, instead of Tuesday.  Now, I keep having to remind myself that tomorrow is Wednesday already.  Oh well, I suppose one day is as good as the other, to me!

I do hope your Thanksgiving holiday was very enjoyable.  Take care and may God keep you all safe.
